Fostering Innovation: IEEE CS BDC Symposium 2024 Concludes at Jagannath University

The "IEEE CS BDC Symposium 2024," aimed at encouraging research in artificial intelligence and other fields, concluded at Jagannath University on Saturday, November 23. Organized jointly by IEEE CS and the CSE Department of Jagannath University, the two-day symposium brought together students and faculty from universities across the country at the university's central auditorium.

Over the course of the event, participants presented a total of 91 research papers, with 22 papers featured across three sessions on the opening day and 69 papers across eight sessions on the second day. Based on the presentations, winners were awarded in three categories.

In his keynote address, Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University, emphasized the importance of such platforms in fostering innovation and collaborative research. He encouraged participants to leverage their engineering, computer science, and technical skills to solve societal and national challenges creatively.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf, Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Digital University, noted that the research papers presented at the symposium could significantly contribute to advancing technical development within state institutions.

The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Abu Layek, Director of the IQAC at Jagannath University, and attended by special guests, including Professor Dr. Sabina Sharmin, Treasurer of Jagannath University. Keynote speeches were delivered by PSC Member and BUET Professor Dr. M. Sohel Rahman and Dhaka University's CSE Department Chair Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque. Faculty members and students from various universities participated, making the symposium a vibrant forum for the exchange of ideas.
